Get A Neck Check

The thyroid gland is a butterfly-shaped endocrine gland that is located in the lower front of the neck. Its job is to produce hormones that help the body use energy, stay warm and keep the brain, heart, muscles, and other organs working properly.

Thyroid cancer is one of the few cancers that have increased in incidence rate in recent years. The American Cancer Society estimates that there will be over 52,000 new cases of thyroid cancer in the US in 2020. Thyroid cancer occurs more frequently in younger patients, with 65% of cases occurring in people under the age of 55, and nearly 3 out of 4 cases are found in women

If caught early, thyroid cancer is curable. How can you spot it? By getting a neck check.

Thyroid cancer may have a high survival rate, but treatment often requires the full removal of the thyroid gland and radioactive iodine therapy. Survivors are therefore required to take a daily thyroid hormone replacement medication for the rest of their lives

Annie James donates 20% of the profits from each necklace to a special CancerCare fund, which helps qualified thyroid cancer patients manage the cost of their long term medical treatment.
