Anne W. Glackin, GIA GG, AJP, AAA
Annie James founder Anne Glackin (née Mock) blends the art and science of precious gemstones, metalsmithing, design, and craftsmanship to bring to life the highest quality fine jewelry. With over a decade of experience working in the jewelry industry, Anne’s background uniquely qualifies her as a private jeweler, designer, appraiser, and consultant.
Anne received her Graduation Gemologist (GG) and Accredited Jewelry Professional (AJP) degrees from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), and her B.A. in Art History from the University of Vermont. She completed New York University's Appraisal Studies Program in Fine and Decorative Arts, with a focus on fine jewelry, and is a Certified Member of the Appraisers Association of America (AAA). Anne also completed numerous jewelry design courses through the New York Jewelry Design Institute. Prior to launching her own business, Anne most notably worked for legendary diamond house Harry Winston as a quality control analyst, and for international auction house Phillips as a jewelry specialist.
While at Harry Winston, Anne’s friends began to consult with her on purchasing engagement rings. Not wanting them to overpay for high-end product or get ripped off in NYC’s Diamond District, Anne began utilizing her network of diamond dealers and master jewelers to offer her friends designer-quality products with insider pricing. In 2016, while still at Winston, Anne was blindsided by a thyroid cancer diagnosis. As part of her recovery, she designed her first Annie James collection as a way to spread awareness for the disease. In 2021, as her client list began to grow, Anne relaunched her custom jewelry, collections and appraisal services under the Annie James name.
Anne loves to ski in the winter, sail in the summer and travel every chance she gets. She lives just outside NYC in Westchester County with her growing family.
