Anne W. Glackin (née Mock), is a New York Metro-based gemologist, jewelry designer, appraiser and consultant. Born and raised by the water in Massachusetts, Anne’s infatuation with gemstones began at a young age. Her mother continues to joke that she began her career as a two-year-old jewel thief trying to pick diamonds out of family friends engagement rings.
Prior to launching her own business, Anne most notably worked for legendary diamond house Harry Winston as a quality control analyst, and for esteemed international auction house Phillips as a jewelry specialist, both in NYC. While working at Harry Winston, Anne launched her Annie James Collection with the mission to raise thyroid cancer awareness – she is a survivor – and funds for patients. She is also a private jeweler, designing and producing custom jewelry for private clients.
Anne received her Graduation Gemologist (GG) and Accredited Jewelry Professional (AJP) Degrees from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), and her BFA from the University of Vermont. She completed New York University's Appraisal Studies Program in Fine and Decorative Arts, with a focus on fine jewelry, and is an Accredited Member of the Appraisers Association of America (AAA). Anne has also taken jewelry design classes through the New York Jewelry Design Institute.
In her free time, Anne is a member of CancerCare’s Young Professionals Committee, which aims to raise funds and awareness for their scholarship program. She is also part of the Women’s Jewelry Associations (WJA) and sits on their New York Metro Chapters mentorship and finance committees. Anne recently moved just outside NYC to Westchester County with her husband and new golden retriever puppy, Clementine!
