My passion for fine jewelry and gemstones began at a young age. My Mom likes to joke that I began my career in the industry as a two year old jewel thief trying to pick diamonds out of her friends engagement rings.
I graduated in 2012 from the University of Vermont with my B.A. in Art History. While an undergraduate, I also took distance education classes through the Gemological Institute of America in order to obtain my Graduate Gemologist Certification (GG). I moved to NYC after graduation, finishing my GG while simultaneously working in the jewelry industry. In 2014, I completed New York University's Appraisal Studies Program in Fine and Decorative Arts, with a focus on fine jewelry. Since then I have continued my education, completing classes in jewelry design and the business of jewelry design through the New York Jewelry Design Institute.
I currently work at Phillips Auctioneers in NYC as an Associate Jewelry Specialist. I previously worked at Harry Winston as a jewelry specialist and gemologist in Quality Control. On the side, I design and produce custom engagement rings and wedding bands for private clients. Additionally, I am a jewelry appraiser.
Outside of work, I am a member of the New York Junior League – a women's volunteer organization that helps women, children, and families in New York City. I serve as a volunteer on their Cancer Awareness and Support committee, providing direct support for individuals diagnosed with cancer and their families. Since partnering with CancerCare, I have been asked to join their Young Professionals Committee, helping to raise funds and awareness for the organization.
